Principal Gains National Role
29th November 2011
Jonathan Godfrey, Principal of Hereford Sixth Form College, has been appointed as Chair of the Council of the Sixth Form Colleges Forum, the national body representing all Sixth Form Colleges in England. This post is held by a serving Principal elected by colleagues. Dr Godfrey said, “I am delighted to be asked to represent the Sixth Form College sector in this way. It is a reflection of the high reputation Hereford Sixth Form College enjoys nationally. This is a critical time for Sixth Form Colleges as proposed changes to the way 16-19 students are funded threaten our level of funding. Sixth Form Colleges have been reviewed recently by both OFSTED and the National Audit Office and shown to be the most efficient and effective providers of sixth form education and I look forward to championing the institutions described by the Chief Inspector of Schools as the Jewel in the Crown of the Education Sector”.
