HEREFORD SIXTH FORM COLLEGE TOPS LEAGUE TABLES ONCE AGAIN

Yet again, Hereford Sixth Form College students have produced another outstanding set of examination results putting them at the top of non-selective colleges and in the top ten overall in National Press league tables.
The overall A level pass rate of 99.6% for over 725 candidates was 2% above the national average. 61.59% of A level entries resulted in an A or B grade, 9% above the national average and 38 subjects achieved a 100% pass rate.
Over 109 students gained 3 or more A or A* grades at A level including 4 students who gained a staggering 6 grade A/A*s at A level:

18 students gained an outstanding 5 A or A* grades:

30% of entries gained A or A* grades, 3% above the national average.
The percentage of the new A* grades was above the average for maintained schools and in some subjects outstanding. In Physics 20% of entries were awarded an A* (national average 10.3), in French 13% (national average 7.7) and in German 24% (national average 9.9%).
Jonathan Godfrey, Principal, said, ‘I am delighted that, once again, the hard work of staff and students has been rewarded by these outstanding results. The College has maintained its position as one of the best providers of sixth form education in the country, outperforming many selective grammar and independent schools. I am particularly pleased to see the excellent results in the traditional subjects such as Science and Modern Languages, which is reflected in the high percentage of A* grades.
Over 840 first year students sat AS examinations gaining equally superb results. The pass rate of 93.9% was 5.7% above the national average and 47.3% of entries resulted in A or B grades ( 8.9% above the national average).
At AS level, 96 students gained 3 or more grade A’s. Of these 39 achieved 4 A grades with 8 students gaining a remarkable 5 grade A’s:
