Another Successful Season for The College Netball Academy
13th May 2010
Hereford Sixth Form College Netball Academy has followed up a successful season in 2008/09 as regional champions and national semi-finalists by securing this season a place in the British Colleges Sports Performance League and English Colleges Netball League.
The Netball Academy has four squads this season, two of which compete at high levels of competition. In addition to squad success the Academy has seen excellent achievement from two of its first squad players. Anna Mulderig and Helen Hancock are having fantastic success this year. Both are representing England in the British Colleges National Squad and are also playing for the National Talent League Squad, the West Midlands Warriors.
The girls have shown great commitment to the game, through training, trialling and match play. Both have great potential and show high quality skills, and now have the opportunity to work with national coaches and compete at a national standard, with and against some of the best players of their age in the country. The College is delighted with this success and is very proud of the students for achieving such a high level of performance. The first squad will be taking on Birmingham MET in their first BCS cup round. They beat Birmingham MET by one goal last year in the semi final of the regional competition. The squad hopes to recreate and better last season's form in their pursuit of winning the national competition.
