The Big College Health Check

20th April 2010

Over 650 students and staff at Hereford Sixth Form College recently took part in the Big College Health Check, a confidential online survey which is part of the Healthy Further Education Programme. An information stand in the Pavilion, provided by the Department of Health, helped to launch the survey and to raise awareness on health issues. Participants were also entered in a regional free prize draw and Jess Harris, one of our students, was the lucky winner of an iPod (see photo).

The survey asked participants for information about their general health, emotional wellbeing, healthy eating, physical activity, alcohol, tobacco, drug use, and sexual health. Participants were also invited to give their views about the health and wellbeing services available at College and in the community, and areas where they would like to see improvement.

The information gained from the survey will help the College identify key areas to work on and to help improve the health and wellbeing of everyone at the College.
