Superb Performance by Physics Students in The British Olympiad

Physicists at Hereford Sixth Form College have performed superbly in the latest British Physics Olympiad organised by the Institute of Physics and Oxford University.
 
Toby Bates and Ella Matthews received commendations, Joseph Williams, Sean Tull, Michael Bradford and Richard Evans received Bronze medals, Laurence Hanes a Silver and Jonathan Whitehead a Gold. Jonathan Whitehead was one from only a small number of Gold medallists from over one thousand competitors nationally. He now has the chance to compete in the final round to determine who represents Britain in the International Physics Olympiad in Mexico. Head of Physics, Mike Newton, said “I am delighted our students have done so well this year”.
